David Hernandez was a stripper

Well, the cat’s out of the bag. American Idol’s David Hernandez is gay. I already knew that. He was also a stripper at a gay club in Phoenix, AZ. See the Associated Press article here “Strip Club: ‘Idol’ Once Danced Here“

I personally am not upset by this. He’s a great singer. What he does without his clothes on is totally his business. He was just making some money shaking what his momma gave him.

Some are worried that David will get booted for his stripper past. Frenchie Davis was disqualified because of nude photographs. Have we forgotten about Season One’s Nikki McKibbin? She was a stripper once too. She finished number three in Season One. Antonella Barba [link is NSFW] managed to stay in the competition despite her racy photos as well.

Seems talent has a little something to do with whether or not they give you the boot. If it looks like you’ll win and make them tons of money, they won’t ditch you. If you’re cute and boost ratings, they won’t boot you.

Hopefully the David Hernandez scandal will blow over quickly. He’s a really talented singer and deserves a chance in the competition.
